Not growing out of static camp gear models, when obviously quick group missions are better for the(group/pick up group)game, just don't make it so the missions are repeatitive (meaning different instances shouldn't be the same thing with a left instead of a right turn) and overly easy, add lockouts and loot + currency = winner.
One or the other extremes in content tuning, either making things a lot harder than they needed to be, or way to easy. Gear is either woefully lacking or extremely inflated.
Don't forget one of the elements in Lost Dungeons of Norrath that made it such a strong expansion for meeting new people. The distinct missions with time limits meant if you joined a group with an idiot you didn't have to be rude and walk out on everyone, you could cope with one mission then go. A bad group just wasn't as bad which made joining a group with strangers an easier decision.
The 90 minute time limit in LDoN also ensured that all missions had to be beatable in 90 minutes by the intended audience, as opposed to 6 hours in UF.
If a mission in Underfoot takes 6 hours to complete, something is VERY VERY wrong. They're intended to take no more than an hour.
